Queen grafting and rearing, taught by Dr. Dewey Caron

We are offering our first queen rearing workshop in May! Our instructor is Dr. Dewey Caron who has authored multiple books, works with OSU Master Beekeeper program and has extensive beekeeping knowledge, experience and too many honors to list. Space is limited to 15 people and we expect it to sell out so register early.

Session 1: May 10 from 8:00 - 9:30 pm.

The first session will be on Zoom where we will learn about grafting and other non-grafting methods of queen rearing. We'll learn how to set up and manage a starter and finisher colony too.

The Zoom link will be provided upon registration.

Session 2: May 14 from 12:00 - 2:00 pm.

Next, we will practice grafting. This is a 2-hour hands-on portion of the course. Location and directions will be provided upon registration.

The cost for this workshop is $25 and includes two very informative publications on queen rearing. Grafting equipment will be on hand for you to use and we will be using PUB bee larvae so you will not need to purchase anything to try your hand at grafting.
